Al-Shaibani: We are open to meeting with Hezbollah if the interest requires

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, discussed at the headquarters of the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh, the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asaad Al-Shaibani, the latest developments in the general situation in Lebanon and the region, and the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them.
After the meeting, Minister Shibani spoke and said: “Our presence in Lebanon is a message of love and cooperation with all Lebanese components and all Lebanese institutions.”
Al-Shaibani described the “meeting” with Speaker Berri as “very excellent” and “in the interest of Lebanese-Syrian relations.”
In response to a question, whether there is a willingness to meet and meet with Hezbollah and sit at the same table? Al-Shaibani replied: “Our meetings today are all scheduled with the Lebanese parties and parties, as well as with the Lebanese government, and today there is no meeting with Hezbollah, but in the future, if there is an interest that is in the interest of the two countries, we are certainly open to that.”
Al-Shaibani concluded: “Today we sat with all the Lebanese parties, and our visit today is to support Lebanon, as we are with Lebanon, heart and soul.”
Berri also received the British Deputy National Security Advisor, Mrs. Barbara Woodward, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell. The political and security developments and the relationship between Lebanon and the United Kingdom were discussed.
